I called on June 25, 2026 at approximately 3:12 pm. I spoke with a lady inquiring about hydrangeas. She asked me to hold on. I said of course. She put the phone down and I could hear her talking to other customers. I thought she was going to check on the hydrangeas. But, she never returned. I continued to wait and could clearly hear her talking to customers. It is now 3:28pm and I am still on hold listening. I didn’t want to be too hasty, but I truly believe she detected my race and disregarded me- forcing me to hang up. I will never do business with them and will not recommend. I see that the owner has apologized since seeing my review; and I do accept her apology.

I went somewhere else first but I was told it was too late in the season to get a lot of the veggies I was looking for. NOT TRUE! This place had everything I was looking for and so much more! Collards, tomatoes, jalapeños, bell peppers, okra, and all manner of seeds. On top of that their prices were quite reasonable. Im coming here for all of my gardening needs from now on. They're the best!

Obsessed is an understatement. Always so fun to see the different plants they offer! They maintain their plants and everything to choose from is in such great condition. Veggies, annuals, perennials, seeds, houseplants, hanging baskets, rosebushes - i buy everything there. A gem in the south side of Chicago. I’ve been shopping there my whole life. The woman who owns it is so sweet and really knows her stuff. You can tell the quality of a family owned place vs big box for sure.

The business has a variety of flowers and plants. The challenge that I found with this place is that not all plants are labeled, and for someone like me who knows very little about flowers and plants, that will be very helpful. The shopkeeper seems to be transactional and will only answer questions when asked but did not seem to take initiative and educating me on her inventory of plants.. Since it was one hour before closing, I would assume that she was ready to close...It is also located off 79th & Western avenue, which is an extremely busy street and since they do not have a parking lot available, the street parking can be a lot with cars zooming past you while you try to park and get out.

Love this place so much! Amazing plant life and supplies at very fair prices, plus a truly kind and knowledgeable owner, Chris, who will help you as much or as little as you need. Be sure to ask any questions, though, because she is a wealth of information vis-a-vis your gardening and houseplant needs. Top of the line business with extra points for CEO*, George😻 *Cat Executive Officer
